Fredy Castellanos, Superintendent/Production Manager

Fredy Castellanos serves as a Superintendent/Production Manager at Swanson & Youngdale, overseeing field operations and managing crews on commercial painting projects. He is responsible for maintaining quality, efficiency, and project timelines while ensuring clear communication with general contractors and alignment with specifications. He also coordinates workflow from start to finish to support consistent execution.

Fredy brings 28 years of industry experience, including 25 with Swanson & Youngdale. He began as an apprentice, earned journeyman status, and advanced to a foreman role. After 16 years in the field, he became a Painting and Safety Instructor with the Painters Union, training apprentices and journeymen. He returned to S&Y in 2017 as a Superintendent, bringing a strong foundation in field operations and workforce development.

He has experience across multifamily housing, warehouses, retail, schools, hospitals, and food and beverage facilities, managing shutdowns for companies like Nestlé, Purina, Boston Scientific, Perrigo, Post Holdings, and Elanco. Fredy takes ownership of project performance and team development, prioritizing mentorship and reinforcing Swanson & Youngdale’s Gold Standard through craftsmanship and accountability. He emphasizes that quality work drives future opportunities and builds a culture of excellence through clear expectations, communication, safety, and productivity.

What matters most to Fredy is representing the company with professionalism and integrity while working alongside a strong team. He leads by finding solutions and communicating clearly. Outside of work, he is a musician and director of a 12-piece band in the Twin Cities, and enjoys golfing, cooking, and spending time outdoors with his family.
