Brian Fosness, Superintendent

Brian Fosness serves as a Superintendent at Swanson & Youngdale, where he leads field operations and manages crews to ensure projects are completed on time and in alignment with company standards. In this role, he oversees day-to-day jobsite activity, coordinates resources, and provides leadership to support consistent performance across a variety of jobs. Brian works closely with project teams to maintain quality, efficiency, and accountability throughout each phase.

Brian brings 16 years of construction experience, including eight with Swanson & Youngdale. He began as an apprentice in industrial painting, primarily in mining, before moving into commercial work. Since joining S&Y in 2018, he advanced to Superintendent in Duluth in 2021, building on a strong foundation in field operations and leadership.

He has worked across housing, offices, schools, hospitals, and other commercial settings. Brian specializes in managing crews and overseeing painting operations, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and meeting timelines. He prioritizes placing team members where they can succeed and contribute effectively.

Brian leads with clear direction and encouragement, building confidence and accountability on the jobsite. He fosters a positive team culture and leads by example. With over a decade of hands-on experience, he brings practical insight and connects easily with crews at every level.
